Hold on to your Hulas … The elves are tired of “The Man” and Elliot needs your help to take a vacation. It’s quirky, hilarious bowling fun fit for the summer season! Compete in a crazy bowling game with the elves serving as the pins and providing their own special, colorful commentary. With just the flick of your mouse, bowl to get a spare or strike, winning trophies along the way.
THE BASICS
· Choose the initial position for a throw by moving your mouse left and right.
· Press and hold the left mouse button to define the power of a throw. Release the mouse button to make a throw. Set the throw power to 0 to cancel the throw and go back to choosing the position of the ball.
· During the throw, you can use your mouse to correct the direction of the ball.
· Press the “Menu” button in the bottom left corner of the screen to pause the game (you can also use the ESC key on the keyboard).
BONUSES
· Coins that appear on the lane before a throw are bonuses. You can collect bonuses by simply rolling over the coins with your ball.
· Green coins are bonuses that you can use before you throw and thus increase the chances to make a strike. You can have a maximum of 5 bonuses in reserve and can activate only one at a time.
· Red coins are anti-bonuses (“Dirty Tricks”) that you can activate before an opponent’s throw (after you made your throw). You can have a maximum of 5 anti-bonuses in reserve and activate only one at a time.
· The Mega Bonus-o-Tron can be used as a bonus before your throw or used as a Dirty Trick before an opponent’s throw. If you are lucky the MEGA Bonus-o-Tron will give you three activated bonuses or anti-bonuses.
BONUS TACTICS
Dirty Tricks
· Pygmy Elves – Makes the Opponent’s Elves smaller. This Dirty Trick can be neutralized with the ‘Larger Elves’ Bonus.
· Larger Gutters – Broadens both of the Opponent’s gutters making the lane very narrow. This Dirty Trick can be neutralized with the ‘Smaller Gutters’ Bonus.
· Jumping Elves – Opponent’s Elves start jumping randomly to avoid being hit by the ball.
· Smaller Ball – Makes the Opponent’s ball smaller. This Dirty Trick can be neutralized with the ‘Larger Ball’ Bonus.
· Emery Paper – Three patches of Emery Paper appear on the lane. If the ball touches the paper, it will grind down to a smaller size.
· Magnet – A magnet will appear on either side of the lane. The red side of the magnet will pull the ball, while the blue side will push it away.
· High Morale – The Elves line up in three ranks greatly reducing the possibility of a strike or a spare with the standard ball.
· Electroshock – An electric cloud appears in the center of the lane that will cause an opponent to lose control of their ball.
· Shields – The Opponent’s Elves are themselves with shields making them much harder to knock down.
· Oil – Three oil slicks appear on the lane. If a ball passes through the oil, it becomes much harder to control when it turns. This Dirty Trick can be neutralized by using the ‘Sand Ball’ Bonus.
· Obstacles – This Dirty Trick places obstacles on the lane. Drive your ball around the obstacles or you will spoil a throw.
Bonuses
· Smaller Gutters – Eliminates the gutters allowing the player to roll without fear of a ‘Gutter Ball’. Of the ‘Larger Gutters’ Dirty Trick has been activated, this Bonus will bring the gutters back to their normal size.
· Firework – This bonus turns the ball into a firework rocket. Use the Left Mouse Button to fire the rocket when it is aimed at the Elves. The Rocket will explode if it hits any obstacles (including the Elves), but will completely fly over ‘Pygmy Elves’.
· Extra Speed – A Turbo Accelerator is placed in the center of the lane. When the ball rolls over the Accelerator, it will launch forward at an amazing speed.
· Giant Elves – Makes the Elves grow larger and easier to knock down. If the ‘Pygmy Elves’ Dirty Trick has been activated, this Bonus will return them to their original size.
· Boxing Gloves – Attached two powerful boxing gloves to the ball. A punch from a glove is more powerful than a normal hit from the ball.
· Basketball – This ball has the ability to jump when the player presses the Left Mouse Button. If the ball hits an obstacle, including the Elves, it will bounce back and allow the player to make another hit. This ball is not affected by the ‘Electroshock’ Dirty Trick.
· Sand Ball – Makes your ball fragile. Collisions with any obstacle (including the Elves) will make the ball break into pieces that will blast everything in their way. Oil slicks have no effect on this ball because it is made of sand.
· Larger Ball – Makes a ball twice as big. If the ‘Smaller Ball’ Dirty Trick is activated, this Bonus will bring the ball back to its original size.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
=================================
This program has been tested extensively to make sure it will operate correctly for all users. If you run into problems with system crashes, error messages or other incorrect behavior, we suggest you first try one of the following:
1) Upgrade your computers sound card drivers. This can be done by identifying the type of sound card your computer is using, and finding the manufacturer's web site. Or, most drivers will be automatically updated if you follow step #2
2) Upgrade DirectX. This is a Microsoft component and it includes special drivers for video cards and sound cards for virtually every manufacturer. It is therefore a very large download, but updating DirectX solves nearly all system problems that are encountered with MumboJumbo games.
